Tim Regan
A rugged MLS defender/midfielder known for his hard work on and off the field. He was one of just three players in Bradley history to earn four all-conference awards. He played and started a school-record 83 games for the Braves. He was also a four-year letterman at Carl Sandburg High School, Regan filled his trophy case as a senior, earning Player-of-the-Year honors from the Chicago Sun-Times, the Daily Southtown and the Star Herald newspapers. Earned NSCAA High School All-American honors after grabbing first-team all-state recognition and All-Midwest. A member of both the Illinois and Region II Olympic Development Program teams The son of Joe and Joanne Regan, Tim was born June 27, 1981.

Billy Savarino Former Prep All-American and three-time All-State forward at Brother Rice HS. (1993) Starred for four years at Notre Dame University (1994-97) and is currently coaching with the Orland Park Soccer Club. Savarino holds the Illinois state prep scoring record with 152 goals over his 4-year outstanding career. Was a member of the Chicago Magic U-18 team that took third in the nation in 1994. Named the Chicago Tribune 1993 Illinois Player of the Year. Played professionally for two years with the Kalamazoo Kingdom (1996-97 of the PDSL).

Pat Klitzke-Novosel Pat is a long time Chicago Magic Volunteer.  She served as the first ever Director of the Best of the Midwest and played an integral part in securing the Polo Fields for the Best of the Midwest.  Pat has two sons that played for the Magic - Adam and Jeff.
Brett Strang Strang, a Naperville Central graduate and 5 year Magic player went on to play at Bowling Green State University.  Following college he played professionally for the Cincinnati Riverhawks in the A League.  Along with coaching in the Chicagoland area, Brett currently plays with the Chicago Fire Reserves.

Josh Feigl

Josh Feigl graduated from Sandburg HS (Orland Park, IL) in 1994 where he was a two-time Prep All-American player and three-time All-State player. He played with the Chicago Magic (and its predecessor  club - Sports Club) for many years and played on teams that collected five Illinois State Cup championships. He was named to the Daily Southtown's Team of the 1990s First Team and honored as one of the Top 100 Soccer People of the Decade.

Josh went on to star as a four-year starter at the University of Evansville (1994-1997). He graduated with a degree in physical therapy (1998) and earned his graduate degree also at the University of Evansville (1999) in physical therapy.

Jim Konrad

Jim Konrad is a native of Naperville, IL. He played on one of the first club teams of the Sports Club (predecessor of the Chicago Magic SC) for Coach Mike Matkovich in the spring of 1990.

The 1989 all-state midfield star at Naperville Central High School moved on to play at Bowling Green University in Ohio before returning to finish his collegiate career at Illinois Benedictine College in Lisle.

Jim turned professional in 1995 and played with the Rockford Raptors along with his brother (Jay) and Steve Keller.

Jay Konrad

Jay Konrad is a native of Naperville, IL. He played on one of the first club teams of the Sports Club (predecessor of the Chicago Magic SC) for Coach Mike Matkovich beginning in the spring of 1990 and for 3 years.

He was a two-time all-state defender at Naperville North High School. He graduated in 1992 and then moved on to play at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb for Coach Willy Roy.

Jay turned professional in 1996 and played with the Rockford Raptors along with his brother (Jay) and Steve Keller.

Steve Keller Steve Keller is a native of Naperville, IL. He played on one of the first club teams of the Sports Club (predecessor of the Chicago Magic SC) for Coach Mike Matkovich beginning in the spring of 1990. He played  for 3 years.

He was a two-time all-state midfielder at Waubonsie Valley High School. He graduated in 1991 and then moved on to play at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana for Coach Jerry Yeagley.

Steve turned professional in 1996 and played with the Rockford Raptors, Milwaukee Wave (indoor pro), and the Chicago Stingers in 1998 when the Stingers won the D3 National Championship in professional soccer.

Garth Lagerway Garth Lagerway is a native of Elmhurst, IL. He played on one of the first club teams of the Sports Club (predecessor of the Chicago Magic SC) for Coach Mike Matkovich beginning in the spring of 1990. He played  for 2 years before going on to college.

Garth was a two-time all-state goalkeeper at York High School. He graduated in 1991 and then moved on to play at Duke University (1991-1994). Duke finished the post season rankings in 6th place his senior year in 1994.

Garth played for Raleigh (in the A-League as an amateur in 1993) and for the New Orleans Storm in 1994 (amateur). He turned professional in 1995 after graduating from Duke (BA in history) and played with the Hampton Road Warriors (in the A-League) for the 1995 season.

He was drafted in 1996 by the Kansas City Wizards and was 12-9 in starts for the Wiz as they played in the MLS Conference finals during the first year of the new league. In 1997 (2 matches) and 1998 (8 matches) he played as the backup keeper for the Dallas Burn and moved to the Miami Fusion in 1999 and 2000 seasons.

Jimmy Harkness Jimmy Harkness is a native of Oak Lawn, IL. He played on the first club team of the Sports Club (predecessor of the Chicago Magic SC) for Coach Mike Matkovich in 1989.

The 1989 all-state star at Brother Rice High School moved on to play at Eastern Illinois University before turning professional in 1993.

He has played professionally with the Chicago Power (MISL), Detroit Express (NPSL), Chicago Stingers (USL -D-III), and Chicago Sockers (USL - D IV)

Jay Rensick Former star player with the Chicago Power SC of the MISL (1991-93) and Chicago Magic player.
Ron Bergstrom Ron Bergstrom was the original investor who built the Sports Club indoor facility in Frankfort and backed the startup of the Sports Club teams that evolved into the Chicago Magic SC today. He was the founder and first coach of the New Lenox SC and its first president. He is credited as the person who started traveling soccer on the far southwest suburbs.
Alex Hernandez The 43 year-old Hernandez grew up in the Burbank community (where much of his family still resides) and was the person who founded the Sports Club SC in 1989. The old Sports Club SC is predecessor of the Chicago Magic SC everyone knows today. Hernandez is the person who brought in Matkovich as the co-director of the club during those infancy days. Hernandez attended Lewis University and later was the men's head coach at Lewis University. He spent four years in Arizona as the state's top coach from 1991 to 1995, then moved on to North Carolina in 1995 to begin to setup the well-known Triangle Futbol Club with the financial backing and support of EuroSports. He returned to the Chicago area in 2001 and is now on the staff of the Chicago Magic Soccer Club.
